Episode 59: Academics

Sunday, March 2nd, 2014

You know, having a kid gives you perspective. For instance, at one point in my life I would have thought that being covered in slightly-spoiled human milk and a touch of feces was a sub-optimal start to the day. Now, it just means that the gas screams are gone. So, win/win.

Episode 58: Don’t Do Dope, Kids; Don’t Do Kids, Dope

Monday, February 3rd, 2014

Once again into the breach, dear friends. Welcome to a Very Special Episode of the Watch This Show Podcast. Show. Thing.

You better put on your big-boy pants before wading into the middle section of the show. Nate and I do our best to separate the artist from his art, and see what we can come up with. It’s time to talk about Woody, and the current rehashing of a decades-old, morally reprehensible scandal.

And, given that the news of his death via overdose (allegedly) was released roughly 15 minutes before we recorded, it’s also time to talk about Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

It’s about as deep a discussion as Nate and I ever have, so of course we completely fuck it up. But hey, you get what you pay for.

Episode 51: Irony Man

We’re billionaire playboy philanthropist podcasters, and we are ready to rumble.

Haha! Just joshin’. We’re not actually philanthropists. The filthy rabble can get their own billions and billions of dollars to play with! Remember: if everyone is special, then no one is special, so make sure to spend some time every day making other people feel a little less special. That’s my mantra.

Oh, who am I kidding. I’m not special, and I’m not a billionaire, and I’m not a philanthropist (though I give my pocket change to the Salvation Army every holiday season). I am, however, a guy that saw some movies and talked about them on the internet, so SUCK IT MOTHER THERESA.

Episode 49: Pi In Your Face

Saturday, March 30th, 2013

This week month on the podcast we spend some quality time with a tiger in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It all goes fine, except for when it ate Nate. Not to worry though! I have a new cohost: a 500-lb Bengal Tiger named Richard Parker. The quality of discourse has not suffered.

Haha! Just kidding! We’re 49 episodes into this, the world’s slowest train wreck! Of course the discourse has suffered!

Episode 45.5: A Bonding Experience

Monday, November 26th, 2012

Welcome back. Your mission, should you choose to accept it Mr. Bourne, is to review Skyfall while simultaneously trying to ignore the fact that the Bourne movies are better at making super-spies lifelike, and the Mission Impossible movies are better at making them fun. Javier Bardem, however, is, as he always has been, simply FAAABULOUS. (more…)
